Meet Grace Vallo

Our youngest lifestyle expert is twenty-five-year-old Grace Vallo, a Food Blogger, Home Cook and Recipe Developer who so beautifully showcases her love for New England cooking with the seasons. Grace has lived in New England her entire life and has sweet memories of chilly winters, thawing springs, toasty summers and colorful falls. Not only does she love the region for its beauty, but also for the fresh seasonal produce and ingredients it supports. She shares the joy of baking and cooking with the first strawberries of spring and pumpkins of autumn through her high quality food photography, original recipes, easy how-to cooking videos and storytelling about her life in Connecticut on her blog Tastefully Grace.

MILLENNIAL FOOD BLOGGER & HOME COOK

Grace grew up in a foodie family where take-out was off limits. She fondly remembers her childhood lunch box filled with gourmet deli sandwiches stacked high with locally grown veggies and spicy capicola. In elementary school, she hated boxed mac and cheese and instead preferred New England oysters. On Sundays, Grace was her dad’s “sous chef” and she helped him prepare multi-course dinners which took days to prepare. Grace loved cooking with him and soon began experimenting on her own with various ingredients.

She was inspired by her trips to the local farm stands with her parents and travels to Italy. Grace’s passion for cooking escalated in college and on Friday nights she shopped at the farmers market and stock up on fresh fruit and vegetables for her yummy meals. Her New England blog Tastefully Grace was launched in 2017 and it’s here where Grace documents original mouth-watering recipes influenced by her childhood.

RECIPE DEVELOPER INSPIRED BY THE SEASONS OF NEW ENGLAND

Grace’s Connecticut hometown is nestled on the east bank of the Connecticut River with streets lined with old colonial-era homes, rolling hills, orchards, berry farms and wine vineyards. Located near some of the best fruit orchards in the U.S, she takes full advantage of fresh picked apples, peaches and an amazing variety of berries. Her signature recipes include Springtime Lobster with Local Sweet Pea Pasta. Her lobsters are caught right on the Connecticut shore. In the summer, she enjoys making Chinese Five Spice Scallops with Native Sweet Corn Puree and Heirloom Panzanella Salad. In the fall,  Brown Butter Peach Cobbler and Fresh Pumpkin Ginger Soup are on the menu. In the winter, her kitchen is buzzing with hearty pasta dishes and wine reduction sauces.
