MEET GRACE VALLO
Our youngest lifestyle expert is twenty-five-year-old Grace Vallo, a Food Blogger, Home Cook and Recipe Developer from New England. As a regular contributor to the long-running lifestyle talk show Better Connecticut, Grace can be seen presenting live cooking demos using fresh seasonal foods popular in the Northeast region.
MILLENNIAL FOOD BLOGGER & HOME COOK
Grace worked at a local catering company and started her blog Tastefully Grace after graduating from The University of Connecticut with a business degree. In her food blog she reinvents her favorite childhood meals and speaks to her generation of foodies with original recipes like Cod Puttanesca with Olive Oil Smashed Potatoes, Chinese Five Spice Scallops with Sweet Corn Puree and Burnt End Smoked Brisket & Mustard Slaw Tacos.
Grace was born and raised in Connecticut in a beautiful quaint town nestled on the east bank of the Connecticut River with streets lined with old colonial-era houses. Located near some of the best fruit orchards in the U.S, she takes full advantage of fresh picked apples, peaches and an amazing variety of berries. Her signature recipes infused with local fruits include Brown Butter Peach Cobbler, Blueberry Lemon Scented Muffins, Panned Seared Swordfish with Spicy Peach Salsa and Scallion Mashed Potatoes.
RECIPE DEVELOPER INSPIRED BY THE SEASONS OF NEW ENGLAND
She grew up in a foodie family and was inspired by family trips to the local farm stands and vacations in Italy. But it was her dad Gary who was Grace’s culinary inspo. He packed her school lunch boxes with gourmet sandwiches. In elementary school she developed a sophisticated palate and preferred oysters over boxed mac n’ cheese. Sunday dinners at home were feasts with Grace taking on the mealtime prep role of sous chef while Dad prepared dinners with multiple courses that took days to prepare. Their Sunday dinner tradition fueled Grace’s passion for cooking and dreams of becoming a professional home cook.
25K INSTAGRAM FOLLOWERS
Grace has a growing Instagram feed with 25,000 followers. Father and daughter are still rockin Sunday dinners, but this time with a new edition to the family table… her fiancé Eric!
