MEET THE SHORES
High school sweethearts Britnye and Cody Shore are serial wedding industry entrepreneurs. They live with and their two young children, Nola Mae and Hendricks in a 1800’s farmhouse in the small charming town of Oxford, North Carolina. The fourteen-acre historical property evolved into the couple’s dream location for their unique southern family owned wedding venue, The Shores at Morgan Farms. Once a tobacco farm, the Shores renovated the main home plus several other buildings on the property which they transformed into a Boho farm-style wedding chapel and cottages for brides and grooms.
FARMHOUSE WEDDING VENUE, NORTH CAROLINA
Cody, a retired firefighter and Britnye a former bridal hair stylist wanted to create something unique to the wedding industry. So, in 2016 the couple renovated a 1963 travel trailer, painted it pink and launched The Bardot Beauty Bus. A traveling bridal beauty bus on the go! Hitched to the back of the Shore’s pick-up truck, the family of four travels to weddings along the East Coast with their large team of the best bridal hair stylists and makeup artists in the bridal industry. The Shores affectionately call their beauty team “The Bardot Babes”.
Inside The Bardot Beauty Beauty Bus are three hair and makeup stations, a cozy lounge area and a place to hang the wedding party dresses. And of course the bus is filled with laughter, happy tears, party music, champagne and lots of anticipation of the special moment of saying, “I do”. thebardot.com
HUSBAND AND WIFE WEDDING ENTREPRENEURS
Expanding their wedding brand beyond their wildest imagination, the Shores renovated a 1941 Art Deco movie theater in the heart of downtown Oxford. The Orpheum has been vacant since the 80’s and will become a magnificent second wedding venue for the couple. The Orpheum at Oxford
Other future family businesses include The Cooper, a boutique Victorian home rental for wedding guests, The Bardot Bridal Beauty Magazine and The Bardot Bridal beauty retail line of bridal hair jewelry, hair extensions and eyelashes.
The Shores’ mantra is, “You only have one shot at this, so give it all you got,” This has translated into couples living out their dreams. On a daily basis you can find Britnye creating new and beautiful wedding day designs, dreaming up new decor ideas for venues, and working with hundreds of beautiful brides. Cody is building Britnye’s dream wedding reception designs and planning logistics of all her operations. And Nola Mae and Hendricks are learning from mom and dad how to be mini entrepreneurs.
The stakes are high and the pressure for perfection is on full speed for the Shores because juggling five businesses, raising two young children and maintaining a marriage is not easy. And when it comes to the biggest day in a couple’s life, there is zero room for mistakes.
